She is an active member of the Hickorytown United Methodist Church and Cumberland County Society of Farm Women, Group #9. Sarah Nealy farms with her husband Oscar and sons and their families. This past year their dairy herd of 271 dairy cows produced an average of 25,829 pounds of milk. Sarah has been a key member for the planning group for the Farm and Home Safety Day Camp since it first started. This past year over 120 youth learned more about farm safety. She has served as both treasurer and corresponding secretary of the county-wide group. She chairs the Cumberland County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee and has done so for 13 years. Kent and Raylene Strode were named as Volunteers of the Year for 2001 by the Extension Associ ation. They have done it all, 4-H member, International Foreign Youth Exchange (IFYE), 4-H parents, 4-H leader, coach, in structor and Extension board member. The Strocks, a fourth generation Extension family, con tinue to provide leadership and support for our youth and adult Extension programs. During the business meeting, Brandon Weary, Carlisle, was re elected president; Kent Strode, Mechanicsburg, was re-elected vice president; and Debra Yor lets, Carlisle, was re-elected sec retary. Extension highlights included Mary Strasbaugh, Mechanics burg, member of the Cumberland County 4-H Horse Club who present “Youth Development in the 21st Century.” Aaron Cornman, Boiling Springs, member of the Cumber land County 4-H Dairy Club, shared his 4-H experiences at Na tional 4-H Club Congress, Atlan ta, Ga. and the National 4-H Dairy Conference, Madison, Wisconsin with the group.
