State, Counties To Commit $64 Million For Preservation HARRISBURG (Dauphin Co.) Agriculture Secretary Sam Hayes, on behalf of Gov. Mark Schweiker, re cently announced that Pennsylvania and its counties will invest $64 mil lion in 2002 to preserve valuable farmland. The State Farmland Preservation Board voted at its February meeting to commit $4O million to the farm land-preservation program in 2002. The board approved the preservation of 33 additional farms totaling 4,181 acres, including Potter County’s first farm. The 33 farms approved by the State Farmland Preservation Board for preservation in February follow.
