The Chester County Conservation District is
requesting bids for the construction of two
Agricultural Waste Storage Systems to be funded
in part by the Chesapeake Bay Program.
Construction of these projects is expected to
begin during July 2002 The sites are located in
West Fallowfield and Highland Townships,
Chester County
Prospective contractors will receive bid packages
that contain - “Instruction to Bidders”, sample
contract forms, the plans and specifications for
the projects and bid sheets.
Small and minority businesses and woman’s
businesses are encouraged to respond to this
invitation for bids. Site showings will be held at
the farms @9:30 AM and 11:00 AM on
Wednesday, March 20, 2002. Sealed bids will be
accepted until the public bid openings at 10.00

manufacture boxes in short-
run quantities (under 1000)
for resale The machine is fed
a corrugated board and in one pass cuts the flaps, creases
the folds, cuts slots, slits to width and cuts to length. With a
printer attachment, it prints single color The board then only
has to be taped, glued, or stitched to complete the box. The
mam feature of this machine is that it was designed for short
runs of approximately 1000 and its 90 second set-up time
for size changes These machines are in place the world over
in big box plants who use them for their small jobs, govern
ment installations, and companies who serve the small
order market exclusively There are various combinations of
length, width, and depth which could be produced from a
board 36” wide x 110" length The space needed for opera
tion is 37 ft x 13 ft The machine is 8 ft wide x 17 ft long

$l5-25,000 New they cost approximately $85,000 There
are very few companies set up to sell short run boxes in the
