    Farm And Home Foundation Conducts 38th Annual Meeting

More than 100 board members,
Foundation friends, and local
dignitaries gathered for the 38th
annual meeting of the Farm and
Home Foundation here at the
Farm and Home Center Tuesday
evening.
Board member Bob Kindig
gave the report of the nominating
committee.
Five members joined, and two
members were re-elected to the
21-member board of directors.
At left is Fay Miller, Lancaster, who was honored for
her almost four years of service as building manager at
the banquet. Linda Armstrong, Lancaster, is now the
building manager.

The board meets every other
month throughout the year to
oversee the activities and organi
zations of the building. Members
discuss and vote about any deci
sion made about the building.

undergoing renovation. The con
ference room will be moved
downstairs as the current confer
ence room is made into offices.

port from the scholarship com
mittee. This year six $l,OOO
scholarships were awarded from
the Esbenshade Trust Fund.

money.
In addition to the
six new winners, this
year the committee
awarded extensions to
16 previous schol
arship winners.
According to Ressler
applications for 2002
will soon be mailed out
to guidance counselors
and teachers across the
county.

Brubaker provided a slide pre
sentation of a recent trip to the
Ukraine for Citizens Network for
Foreign Affairs, a nonpartisan,
nonprofit group working to stim
ulate economic growth in devel
oping countries.
“My job was to help the Ukrai
nians rebuild, rethink, cooperate,
and believe in themselves again,”
he said.
Brubaker’s specific mission
was to help build cooperatives
and aid in cooperation between
the farmers and government, he
