market at a reasonable rate. Demand
was moderate with average buyer inter
est and trading. Live supplies were mod
erate for the market being reported on
an estimated slaughter of 1,366,000 com
pared to 1,365,000 last Tuesday.

with any offerings held with confidence.
The undertone on breast trim was steady
at best and scapula steady to instances
weak. Offerings available with some sca
pula offered at 105-107 cents delivered.
Mechanically separated turkey (MST)

In Philadelphia, prices were un
changed to 3 cents higher on the larger
sizes and unchanged to 4 cents higher on
mediums. In Boston, prices were un
changed to 2 cents higher on all sizes In
New England, prices were 3 cents higher
for extra large through medium and un
changed on the balance of sizes. The
market tone was firm. Demand was
moderate to good, best where featured.
In the Philadelphia vicinity, extra large
eggs were advertised at 79 cents per
dozen. Supplies were adequate to mostly
close for current trade requirements.
Breaking stock supplies were fully suffi
cient to short and demand was moder
ate. Light type hens were at least
adequate for processing needs

Trade sentiment across the country
was generally steady. Demand for poul
try items was moderate as attention
turned to the convention in Atlanta.
Buyers were selective in obtaining addi
tional product, relying on normal ship
ments to service a fair retail demand
Fast food sales were mixed, usually no
better than moderate, with few national
features in place to increase movement
Parts activity was nominal.
Offerings from production areas were
adequate for needs, with the occasional
discount mentioned to clear a problem
load. Live supplies were tightening in
some areas due to the cold weather a few
weeks ago. Weights were usually desir
able.
