Plains and Midwest reported few live
cattle steady at 66 00- 67 00 and few
dressed basis at 106 00-107.00 Thursday
afternoon Slaughter cows sold 2 00-3 00
lower early in the week and closed on a
higher note on the 85-90 percent lean
Slaughter bulls were steady to 2.00
lower. Supply included 35 percent steers,
9 percent heifers, 42 percent cows, 5 per
cent bulls, with the balance feeders.

sliding value from the negotiated weight
basis which is calculated on the actual
average weight of the lot plus or minus
.30-.40 cents per pound. Some lots of
early weaned pigs are discounted 1.00-
10.00 per head on pigs weighing under
10 pounds. Early weaned pigs are under
19 days old. Estimated lean value is pro
jected to base slaughter weights with
normal confinement feeding conditions.
Vaccination and health program values
are not included but health status should
be disclosed.
