Winning the reserve champion
placing was Nate Tice’s home
bred Sank Elmers Rodeo Stuff. A
Farm Show veteran of eight
years, he also took home a first in
the bred and owned class with
the heifer. Nate already has his
Shorthorn steer for next year and
is anticipating calving out several
Shorthorns this spring. He shows
for Tice Farms, a veal and show
animal operation.
Simmental Show
Bred-and-owned animals also
topped the competition in the
Simmental show.
The grand champion Simmen
tal, a “total package” according
to judge Turner, was Tim Schaef
fer’s S&S Miss Smarty Pants.
Schaeffer hails from S&S Sim
mentals, Myerstown, a 60-acre
farm with 30 head herd of Sim
mentals and Crossbreds.
In his four years of Farm
Shows, Schaeffer has brought
home three grand champion heif
er honors and has won the junior
show three times or bred the
winning heifer.
Shelby Rarick, Fleetwood, cap
tured reserve champion placing
with K&K Black Hoku. She
brought a string of six Simmen
tals, one Limousin, and one steer
to the Farm Show. This year
marked the third year exhibiting
at the event for the 9-year-old.
