Participants will learn di rectly applicable take-home in formation on management practices designed to improve foot care and health. In addition to Dr. Shear’s presentation on diseases, sessions will focus on: anatomy of the foot and hoof; proper hoof trimming and cow comfort; feeding for optimal foot and hoof health; and a research update on detecting lameness. Penn State has announced a day long “short course” Feb. 2 tar geted for the serious mare or stal lion owner who wishes to ad vance their knowledge on equine reproduction.
