In Philadelphia, prices were un
changed to 1 cent higher on all sizes.
Prices paid to producers in New Eng
land were 1 cent higher for extra large
and large, unchanged on the balance of
sizes. In Boston, prices remained un
changed. The market tone was fully
steady. Demand improved and ranged
light to moderate, best where features
stimulated interest.
Supplies were adequate for full trade
needs. Breaking stock supplies were
ample to burdensome for the only fair
demand. Light type fowl were sufficient
for slaughter requirements.

Movement of ready-to-cook whole
birds was mostly light to fair at best and
typical of mid-week trading. Seller offer
ings were more than sufficient for trade
requirements. Live supplies were moder
ate; weights were in a full range of light
to heavy. Processing schedules were
moderate. Less than trucklot asking
prices was unchanged at 48 to 62 cents.
Trade sentiment was no better than
steady. In the parts complex, bone-in
breasts were in good balance and clear
ing satisfactorily. Boneless-skinless
breasts were adequate to available. The
balance of items were at least adequate
for trade needs.

FEDERAL/STATE: Trade sentiment
was no better than steady. Retail
demand was seasonally slow to fair, best
for light features and more traditional
holiday foods. Food service was light to
fairly good as catered holiday functions,
fast food promotions, and restaurant
business attracted additional interest.
Supplies were at least adequate and
available, at times long for heavier sizes.
In the parts structure, breast items
moved into a better position, particularly
bone-in, and cleared well. Wings were
sufficient, but closer balanced for party
wings, and dark meat was at least avail
able. In production areas, live supplies
were moderate. Weights were in a full
range.
