areas. The market tone was generally
steady. Demand into all channels ranged
light to moderate, best where scattered
features were a factor. In the Philadel
phia vicinity, large eggs were advertised
for free with a $25 purchase. Supplies
were adequate to available for immedi
ate trade needs. Breaking stock supplies
were fully adequate and demand was
fair. Light type fowl were at least suffi
cient for processing requirements.

Mostly prices were unchanged to
lower on whole and yolks unchanged for
blends when compared to last week’s
trading. Demand was light to moderate
for generally sufficient offerings. The
undertone was barely steady to weak on
whole eggs and yolks, steady for whites.
Liquid and frozen eggs (ingredients in
cluded) processed under federal inspec
tion in the Eastern region for the week
ending November 24, 2001 were 12%
lower than the previous week and 10%
less than last year.

Movement of ready-to-cook whole
birds and parts was seasonally light and
unaggressive. Seller offerings were fully
adequate to ample and generally diffi
cult to place. Live supplies were at least
moderate; weights varied and were
mostly desirable to light. Processing
schedules were moderate to moderately
heavy. Less than trucklot asking prices
were 1 cent lower at 49 to 63 cents. Trade
sentiment was barely steady to weak. In
the parts complex, all items were fully
sufficient to handle the disappointingly
light buying interest.

Supplies were fully sufficient for present
requirements. The New York State shell
egg inventory was 4% less, however the
New Jersey inventory was 26% more
when compared to a week ago.
