After five years of exhibiting
market goats at the Manheim
Community Farm Show, Sarah
Landis finally joined her three
sisters in the honor of taking
home a grand championship tro
phy.
“It’s exciting,” Landis said of
her first time winning the show.
Her older sister, Anna, was the
first to win eight years ago. She
was followed by Rebekah, the
oldest, then younger sister Ce
leste. Younger brother Michael
has also exhibited the reserve
champion market goat at Man
heim.
The daughter of Melvin and
Nancy Landis of Lititz, Sarah is
the middle child in the family of
seven.
A home-schooled tenth grader,
Sarah also helps out on the fami
ly’s 128-acre beef farm.

reasons she enjoys showing goats
is because of the social interac
tions it offers.
“1 like being out in public,” she
said.
Landis said her champion is
partly Boer as well as Tennessee
Meat Goat.
