Compared to last Thurs day, early sales of slaughter steers opened Monday steady to .50 higher and closed Tuesday uneven with the High Choice and Prime trading steady to 50 higher and Average Choice and plainer steers closing steady to .50 lower. Trad ing was very active on early sales and the top quality cattle but slow on the average and plainer cattle. Slaughter heifers were not well tested but a higher under tone on the early sales. Holstein steers sold steady. Slaughter cows were very active and prices traded 1 00-2 00 higher.
