The steer market opened active for the top quality cattle but slow on the average and plainer cattle. Late in the week prices were a little stronger on the average cattle but enough to stablelue the market. Slaugh ter heifers were not well tested but a higher undertone noted on early sales. Local holstein steer prices traded fully steady for the week. Feedlots in the Plains and Midwest reported live cattle 1.00-2.00 lower at 65.00-67.50 avg 66.38 and 2.00-3.00 lower dressed at 104.00- 108.00 avg 106.03. Slaughter cows traded very active and prices were 2.00- 3.00 higher. Slaughter bulls closed 2.00 higher for the week. Supply included 33 percent steers, 5 percent heifers, 36 per cent cows, 5 percent bulls, with the bal ance feeders.
