Cooperative Awards Scholarships
RESTON, Va. Maryland & Virginia Milk Pro
ducers Cooperative Association, Inc. has named eight
scholarship recipients for 2001. These individuals are
strong dairy advocates and will be a tremendous asset
to the dairy industry. Five scholarships were funded
by Maryland & Virginia and three by an anonymous
donor.
Sarah Carson is the daughter of Rodney and Cathy
Carson from Martinsburg. Carson is a senior at the
University of West Virginia majoring in agriculture
and environmental education. Carson has been an
active member of 4-H and FFA. In the future, Carson
hopes to work in communications or public relations
within the dairy industry.
Doreen Delp is an animal science major and an ag
business minor at Penn State University. Delp is the
daughter of Durrell and Dawn Delp of Williamsburg.
Her extracurricular activities include Penn State’s
Dairy Science Club, 4-H, FFA and the Pennsylvania
Junior Holstein Association. Delp’s dairy interests in
clude research, nutrition, promotion and genetics.

Sarah Carson
chemistry at Virginia Tech. She will graduate in 2002
and is planning to attend graduate school to study
reproductive physiology. She is active in the dairy
club, Alpha Zeta, was a member of the Maryland
Junior Holstein Association for 12 years, and a ten
year member of 4-H. lager is the daughter of Gene and
Kathy lager.
David Mosemann is the son of Richard and Linda
Mosemann. He is a freshman at Penn State, majoring
in agriculture and biological engineering with a minor
in dairy and animal science. Mosemann has been
active in 4-H and FFA and is pursuing a career in the
planning and design of milking parlors.
Kristin Myers is a senior at Cornell University and
is studying animal science. She is the daughter of
Jason and Donna Myers of New Windsor, Md. She
serves as president of Cornell’s Dairy Science Club, is
a member of Agriculture Communicators of Tomor
row, and was active in 4-H and FFA. Myers is working
towards a career in finance, business management or
marketing within the dairy industry.
