It’s state fair time again, and along with the fair comes “Beef Day,” an annual celebration of the beef industry in the Empire State. This year’s Beef Day, sched uled for Aug. 28, promises to be bigger and better than ever before. This year, the New York Beef Industry Council (NYBIC) will be introducing Beefman to state fair attendees. Beefman, a cowboy superhero, brings ZIP (Zinc, Iron and Protein) into the lives of children. “Educating children about good nutrition and the impor tance of maintaining a balanced diet, which includes the appro priate amount of beef, is a main priority of America’s beef pro ducers,” said Don Gray, a beef The New York Beef Indus try Council has a new nutri tion mascot.
