Movement of ready-to-cook whole
birds was fair to moderate and sufficient
in keeping the bulk of seller offerings in
generally good balance. Live supplies
were mostly moderate; weights were
mostly desirable. Processing schedules
were moderate to moderately heavy.
Less than trucklot asking prices were
unchanged at 56 to 70 cents. Trade senti
ment was at least steady. In the parts
complex, buying interest was light to fair
and selective. Offerings were generally
noted as well balanced to closely cleared.

Mostly prices were unchanged to
lower on salt yolk; whites ranged un
changed to slightly lower; balance of
items unchanged when compared to a
week earlier. Demand was light to good,
mostly light to moderate. Offerings were
sufficient but still tight on yolks. Under
tone was steady but traders were closely
watching other markets. Liquid and
frozen eggs (ingredients included) pro
cessed under federal inspection in the
Eastern region for the week ending
August 4, 2001 were 5% less than the
previous week, and 9% more than a year
ago.
