TREND: Compared to last week,
feeder pigs not well tested but a higher
undertone noted. Slaughter pigs traded
15.00-20.00 lower, instances 30.00 lower
on the 40-55 lbs. Demand good for feed
ers and light for slaughter pigs. Around
17 percent of this week’s supply re
turned to feed. All pigs were weighed
and graded on arrival and sold by the
hundred eight.

Most lots of 40-60 weight pigs have a
sliding value from the negotiated weight
basis which is calculated on the actual
average weight of the lot plus or minus
.30-.40 cents per pound. Some lots of
early weaned pigs are discounted 1.00-
10.00 per head on pigs weighing under
10 pounds. Early weaned pigs are under
19 days old. Estimated lean value is pro
jected to base slaughter weights with
normal confinement feeding conditions.
Vaccination and health program values
are not included but health status should
be disclosed.
