immigration reform bill intro
duced recently by Sen. Larry
Craig (R-Idaho) could be valu
able in providing legal workers
for farmers and ranchers who
need an additional labor force,
according to the American Farm
Bureau Federation.
“This bill represents an im
portant step forward in the long
running debate on farmworker
immigration reform,” said
AFBF President Bob Stallman.
“Everyone knows farmers are
struggling right now, and ensur
ing farm employers a legal labor
force they can afford to employ
