Our children are finally old
enough to be interested in their
parents background. Judy, who
was visiting from Georgia, asked
her father a lot of questions and I
think that he enjoyed telling her
about his “growing up” days. He
has always liked to tell about his
years at Penn State.
She made so many notes on ge
nealogy. It will take her days to
put all the information on her
computer. Some copies were also
made of papers that I wrote on

Farmer’s Pride Airport.

Her daughters are 10 and 12
and she and her oldest did a job
for me that did not think they
could do. As one rocking chair on
my front porch was in bad shape,
she said that she would recane it.
And, she did. They bought can
ing and wove a beautiful new
seat. Then they painted the chair
and even repaired another one.
She had never done such work
before.
During the days that she was
here, she found time to visit rela
tives. And, also met with a col
lege roommate who lives in an
other county. She also took her
husband to a business meeting in
Baltimore.
One day we all ate at a restau
rant, but most of the time we
cooked big meals at home. They
made two pies and I really en
joyed the shoo-fly pie. We
roasted a chicken and baked ham
and added lots of my frozen veg
etables and canned fruits. Our
children flatter me by saying that
the frozen vegetables are better
than the ones they buy in the
store.
Too soon it was time to pack
their belongings and drive back
to Atlanta. However, they did see
Luray Caverns in Virginia on the
way home.
