5-Year-Old Jersey Takes Supreme At Somerset Junior Show

MEYERSDALE (Somerset
Co.) When her 5-year-old Jer
sey, Roses Pepper Magic, was
named supreme champion re
cently at the Somerset County
Junior Dairy Show, 18-year-old
owner Wendy Rose of Hollsopple
was delighted with Judge John
Burkett’s assessment of the cow.
“The Jersey is a cow you can’t
pick apart,” he said. “She’s the
cow today. She’s got the bloom.
Her udder is nearly flawless.”

Rose reported that several
years ago at the same show Missy
was also named supreme.
“I like to work with my ani
mals,” she said, “and I like the
competition.”
The Jersey breed reserve

Rose of Hollsopple.
