Trucklot buying activity was fair to
moderate as dealers cautiously assessed
needs approaching the weekend. Offer
ings of bone-in breasts were fully ade
quate to available, but not as
burdensome as in earlier week trading.
Boneless-skinless breasts ranged ade
quate to fully adequate.
Wings were fully sufficient. Dark
meat lines were at least adequate. Retail
and distributive movement was fair to
fairly good at times, best where retail
promotions were gearing up. The market
tone was cautiously steady to instances
weak on bone-in breasts, no better than
steady on boneless-skinless breasts,
about steady on the balance of parts.

In Philadelphia and Boston, prices
were unchanged to 2 cents higher on the
larger sizes and unchanged on mediums.
Prices paid to producers in New Eng
land were 3 cents higher on jumbo, 2
cents higher on extra large and large,
and unchanged on the lighter weight
eggs. The market tone was fully steady
to Arm, with the larger sizes in the best
position. Demand was moderate to good,
best where retail items were featured.
Supplies were generally adequate for
trade needs. Breaking stock demand was
fair for fully adequate offerings. Light
type hens were fully adequate to ample
for slaughter schedules.

Movement of ready-to-cook whole
birds was fair to moderate. Offerings
varied from plant to plant but were gen
erally adequate to closely cleared. Live
supplies were at least moderate; weights
ranged light to heavy, mostly desirable
to heavy. Processing schedules were
moderately heavy. Less than trucklot
asking prices were unchanged at 58 to 72
cents. Trade sentiment was steady to
fully steady. In the parts complex, bone
in breast were readily available and slow
to clear. Bopeless skinless breasts were at
least adequate to fully adequate. Wings
were fuUy adequate. Leg cuts were clear
ing satisfactorily.
