Grain Market
Summary
St. Joseph, MO
July 3,2001
Report Supplied By USDA
Grain and soybean bids continued
their upward swing due mainly to tech
nical buying on the board and some
weather concerns. Wheat 1 to 7 cents
higher. Corn 3 to 4 cents higher. Sor
ghum 14 to IS cents higher. Soybeans
steady to 3 cents higher, with Central
Illinois 2 cents lower.
Slight gains in wheat pits a reaction to
fund buying after prices dropped so low.

Lancaster Fanning, Saturday, July 7,2001-A7
Winter wheat harvest continues to make
progress and is reported 55 percent com
plete. Spring wheat crop ratings were in
creased to 68 percent good to excellent.
Spill over strength kept corn and soy
bean bids climbing. Hot temperatures
and some rain are in next weeks forecast
for the Midwest. Export demand re
mains slow this week, limiting advances.
