Heidi Good, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Good, of R.D. 1, Beavertown, and Robin Soki, of York, and a 2000 graduate of West Snyder High School, served as the North Central Regional Vice President of the Pennsylva nia FFA Association. She pre sided over the Summer PA FFA Convention as a member of the PA FFA and as a member of the state officer team. Phaedra Wray, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wray, of McClure, and placed sixth in the state FFA Conservation Public Speaking CDE, earning a gold medal. James Wright, son of Dale and Teresa Wright, of McClure, served as president of the West Snyder FFA Parliamentary Pro cedure Team, which placed fourth in the state winning a gold medal for the sixth consecutive year. Heather served as chairman of the Nominating Committee to select the 2001-2002 PA FFA State Offi cers. Melissa McWilliams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester McWil liams of Spring Mills, placed 13th in the Dairy Showmanship Ca reer Development Event. She earned a bronze medal for her ef forts. Jennifer McWilliams, also the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester McWilliams, of Spring Mills, attended the summer FFA Convention. Jessica Harper, daughter of Mrs. Jamie Harper of McClure participated in the Interview CDE. The West Snyder FFA Chap ter Scrapbook placed third in the state earning a gold medal in the competition. Twin Valley FFA Members Win State Creed Speaking Event MORGANTOWN (Berks Co.) Twin Valley FFA members Ashley Austin, first place, and Mandy Stoltzfus, second place, were top winners in the State FFA Creed Speaking Career De velopment Event during the Pennsylvania State FFA Summer Convention June 12-14. Austin will go on to compete at the National FFA Creed Speak ing Career Development Event Oct. 24-27 in Louisville, KY dur ing the 74th National FFA Con vention. “I’m excited about placing first at the state level,” said Austin. “I am looking forward to competing at the National FFA Conven tion.” Austin is the daughter of Jeff and Sandy Austin of Elver son. She will be entering her sophomore year at Twin Valley High School. She plays piano and enjoys gardening. Stoltzfus is the daughter of Scott and Bertha Stoltzfus of Geigertown. She is also entering her sophomore year at Twin Val ley High School. She is involved in the 4-H Swine Club and plays softball and field hockey. Creed speakers are required to recite The FFA Creed and then answer a series of questions relat ed to the creed presented by a panel of judges.
