Cattle slaughter under federal inspec
tion through Tuesday was estimated at
129,000 head compared to 128,000 a
week ago and 1,000 a year ago. Week to
date 259,000 head compared to 256,000
a week ago and 125,000 a year ago.
CME Futures Closes for Live Cattle:
August 73.60, down 30; October 75.17,
down 17; December 75.50, down 17.
