Weather is the major weakening
factor in today’s trading. Favorable
growing conditions across the Midwest
and Corn Belt have bids back on the
downslide. Wheat steady to 6 cents
lower. Corn 2 to 3 cents lower. Sorghum
5 cents lower. Soybeans 3 to 4 cents
lower.
Good weather conditions for crops al
ready in the ground and scattered rains
are reported all around. Wheat harvest
pressure has been weighing on bids.
However, with soybean planting not
completed and rain delays in wheat cut
ting, bids were able to hold on to some of
the recent gains.
Export interest was light for corn but
nothing else was announced.

CORN BELT FEEDSTUFF: Whole
sale Bids. Truck or Rail dollars per ton.
Feedstuff prices were steady to firm this
week due to continued demand. Many
ingredients were tight due to slowed pro
duction. Soybean meal prices were
moderately lower for the week influ
enced by a decline in export interest. Al-
falfa and alfalfa by-products held steady
as producers complete their first cutting
of hay. Several areas are still receiving
rains making cutting nearly impossible
and supporting prices.
SOYBEAN MEAL; 44 percent rail
bids 4.00 to 5.00 lower at 161.50-165.50.
48 percent rail 4.00 to 5.00 lower at
171.50-174.50. Truck 44 percent 4-8.00
lower at 165.50-170.50; 48 percent 4-7.00
lower at 174.50-179.50 per ton.
