TREND: Compared to last week,
feeder not well tested. This week’s
supply sold mostly for slaughter. Slaugh
ter pigs 17-35 lbs traded 3.00 lower.
Demand was very good for slaughter
pigs but light for feeders. Around 6 per
cent of this week’s supply returned to
feed. All pigs were weighed and graded
on arrival and sold by the hundred
weight.

eastern U.S. direct feeder pig prices on a
FOB farm to farm basis for the week
ended June 8. Receipts this week 49,
682; last week 31,595. Compared to last
week, early weaned pigs and 40-50
pound feeder pigs mostly steady.
Demand moderate to heavy offerings.
Receipts included 38,554 pigs shipped to
lowa and Central U.S.
Prices follow for estimated 50-54%
lean value pigs by lot size, head count,
prices per head with weighted average
prices in parentheses.

BASIS: 250 or less; 1355 head, 26.50-
35.73 (31.19); 250-750:4313 head, 25.79-
36.27 (29.98); 750 or more: 7144 head,

Prices do not include freight or broker
fees. Many lots of 40-60 lb weight pigs
sold with a .25 or .40 per pound slide.
Also, some lots of early weaned pigs
have a 1.00 per pound sliding value ad
justed from a 10 pound basis. Early
wean pigs under 19 day old.
Estimated lean value is projected to
base slaughter weights with normal con
finement feeding conditions.
This report does not cover any trades
which include profit/loss share agree
ments or ar-v other form of shared or re
tained ownership agreements.
