Daily National Grain Market Summary St Joseph, MO May 23,2001 Report Supplied By USDA Wheat bids lower again as ideal weather conditions allow spring wheat seeding and winter wheat harvesting to progress. Corn and soybean bids re gained some of the losses made over the past few days due mainly to trade cor rections and some fund buying on the Board. Wheat mostly steady to 1 cent lower. Corn 1 to 2 cents higher. Sorghum 1 cent higher. Soybeans 2 to 7 cents higher. Export sales overnight helped under pin wheat bids early in the day but weak ness set in again midday with little else to offer support. Favorable weather con tinues for spring wheat planting and some areas of Texas arc harvesting winter wheat and new-crop soft red winter wheat is moving into elevators in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Georgia. Despite the lack of fresh foreign news, corn and soybean bids showed some strength today. The major factor was technical buying on the Board. The past few days of lower trends were seen as overdone. Good weather conditions, however, are limiting gains in both commodities.
