Wheat: Net sales of 159,900 metric tons (MT) —a marketing-year low—were 6 percent lower than the pre vious week and 26 percent less than the 4-week average. Increases for Mexico (45,100 MT), Japan (39,400 MT), Vene zuela (36,000 MT), Yemen (33,200 MT), Nigeria (22,500 MT), and Cyprus (22,000 MT) were partially offset by de creases for unknown destinations (74,600 MT) and Guatemala (31,000 MT—switched to 200V2002). Net sales of 251,200 MT for delivery in 200'/2002 (which begins June 1) were mainly for South Korea (40,400 MT), the Philip pines (34,500 MT), Guatemala (31,000 MT), Israel (30,200 MT), Nigeria (30,000 MT), and Indonesia (26,000 MT). Ex ports of 363,100 MT were 4 percent over the prior week, but 27 percent under the 4-week average. The primary destina tions were Japan (84,800 MT, including late reporting of 40,600 MT), Peru (49,700 MT), Yemen (40,200 MT), In donesia (33,000 MT), and Mexico (25,600 MT). Corn: Net sales of 1,190,700 MT were 34 percent above the week earlier and 38 percent above the 4-week average. Major increases were reported for Japan (204,200 MT), Egypt (179,000 MT), Mexico (126,500 MT), unknown destinations (104,000 MT), Turkey (79,800 MT), and Taiwan (79,300 MT) Net sales of 40,000 MT for delivery during the 200V2002 marketing year were primarily the result of increases for the United Kingdom (55,000 MT) and Jamaica (2,500 MT) being partially offset by decreases for Turkey (17,500 MT). Rice; Net sales reductions of 35,400 MT resulted as major increases for El Salvador (7,200 MT—all rough), Hon duras (6,000 MT—all rough), Haiti (4,400 MT), and Ghana (3,300 MT) were offset by reductions to Mexico (62,900 MT—all rough). Exports of 42,700 MT were 20 percent below the prior week and 10 percent under the 4-week aver age. The primary destinations were the Philippines (10,900 MT), Haiti (7,200 MT), Mexico (5,300 MT), Honduras (3,800 MT), and Ghana (3,000 MT). Soybeans: Net sales of 114,700 MT were off two-thirds from the previous week and one-half from the 4-week aver age. Major increases for Japan (66,100 MT), Mexico (29,900 MT), Trinidad (22,000 MT), and Russia (10,000 MT) were partially offset by decreases for Turkey (22,500 MT). Increases of 116,500 MT for delivery in 2001/2002 were mainly for unknown destinations (60,000 MT) and Mexico (38,500 MT).
