Majority prices were generally un
changed on yolks, unchanged to slightly
lower on whites, and lower on whole
when compared to a week earlier. Sup
plies were limited on yolks, adequate on
whole, and sufficient on white. Demand
was improved but still in a range of slow
to good. The undertone was mixed,
steadier at prevailing values. Liquid and
frozen eggs (ingredients included) pro
cessed under federal inspection in the
Eastern region for the week ending May
5, 2001 were 7% less than the previous
week, and 11% less than a year ago.

birds was light to fair at best, typical of
normal mid-week activity. Offerings
were adequate to closely cleared on the
3.0 pound and smaller sizes; fully ade
quate on the larger sizes. Live supplies
were moderate; weights were mostly de
sirable to heavy. Processing schedules
were moderate to moderately heavy.

cent higher at 54 to 68 cents. Trade sen
timent was mostly steady to fully steady.
Boneless skinless and bone-in breasts
were fully adequate for the cautious
buying interest. Thighs and wings were
slow to clear. Other leg items were in
generally good balance.
