Slaughter cows were steady to 2.00
higher, bulls were 6.00-7.00 higher.
Feeder cattle were steady with some
higher and some lower.
Slaughter cows and bulls 25 percent.
Replacement pairs and feeder cows 5
percent. Feeder steers and bulls under
600 lbs 35 percent, over 600 lbs 8 per
cent; feeder heifers under 600 lbs 24 per
cent, over 600 lbs 3 percent.

Hog slaughter under federal inspec
tion through Wednesday was estimated
at 1,040,000 head compared to 1,062,000
a week ago and 1,055,000 a year ago.
Slaughter lambs were steady for very
limited test on Wednesday. A few sales
at the terminal market centers were re
ported; (South St. Paul) Spring New
Crop; Choice, end Prime 2-3 110-130 lbs
85.00-87.00; Fall Shorn and Old crop:
Choice, end Prime 110-120 lbs with 1-2
pelts 83.00-85.00. Sales in the Sioux Falls
