The market tone was steady to barely

Prices were unchanged to lower on
larger sizes in New York, Philadelphia,
and the Southern region. Elsewhere
prices were unchanged. The market tone
ranged steady to weak, mostly steady to
barely steady. Demand was light to mod
erate, although some improvement was
noted in some areas. Supplies were avail
able and remained fully adequate to
ample for current needs. Breaking stock
supplies were fully adequate to ample
for the moderate demand. Light type
fowl were ample to burdensome for ir
regular processing schedules.

Trucklot buying interest was mostly fair
and generally noted as typical of
midweek trading activity. Supplies of
boneless-skinless breasts were well bal
anced and bone-in breasts ranged no
more than adequate to instances tight.
Wings and dark meat cuts continued to
clear well. Retail and distributive move
ment was about fair, with best interest
centering around scattered features. The
market tone was fully steady on
boneless-skinless breasts, fully steady to
instances firm on bone-in breasts, steady
on the balance.

unchanged to slightly lower on salt yolk,
irregular on whites and majority values
were generally unchanged on whole
when compared to a week earlier. Sup
plies were limited on sugar yolks balance
of items were usually sufficient. Demad
was in a full range of light to good. The
undertone was steady on sugar yolks,
cautious but steady on whole, and unset
tled to barely steady on whites. Liquid
and frozen eggs (ingredients included)
processed under federal inspection in the
Eastern region for the week ending April
21,2001 were 8% more than the previous
week, and 10% more than a year ago.
