CATTLE- Compared to last Thurs
day, slaughter steers sold mostly steady,
with .50 lower on the bottom of the High
Choice and Prime grades. Holstein steers
steady on light offerings. Slaughter heif
ers were not well tested. Slaughter bulls
were 1.00 higher. Slaughter cows traded
steady Monday afternoon’s special
feeder cattle auction was very active
with nearly 350 head of fresh cattle from
the state of Pennsylvania, New Jersey,
Maryland, and New York. Demand was
very good for thin calves and yearlings
under 700 lbs. Supply included 31 per
cent slaughter steers and 25 percent
cows.
