Compared to last week: Feeder steers
steady to 2.00 higher. Stocker steers and
steer calves steady to 5.00 higher, great
est advance on 5 weights. Feeder heifers
steady to 1 00 higher. Stocker and heifer
calves steady. Demand very good for all
classes. Quality average to attractive.
Weigh-ups mostly average. Feeder cattle
in medium to moderate flesh, few fleshy.
Stockers and calves m thin to moderate
flesh conditions. Supply of feeder cattle
continue to run lighter than normal.
Cattle have failed to make normal gains
this season due to late and boggy wheat
pastures. Slaughter cows 5.00-4.00
higher. Slaughter bulls 3.00 higher.
Packer demand outstanding for season
ably light supply of slaughter cows.
Demand for replacement and grazing
cows continues very good. Total of 225
cows and bulls sold with 43 percent
going to packers.
Receipts this week 5450; last week
8146; last year 12,991.
Supply consisted of 66 percent year
lings over 600 lbs; 29 percent calves and
light yearlings under 600 lbs; 5 percent
cows and bulls.
