CATTLE: Compared to last Thurs
day, slaughter steers sold 1.00-1.50
lower. The market opened the week with
losses and prices held Tuesday with
good offerings. Holstein steers were
steady to .50 lower. Slaughter heifers not
well tested. Slaughter cows traded 1.00-
2.00 lower, with slaughter bulls trading
1.00 lower. Supply included 47 percent
slaughter steers and 42 percent cows.

with fancy singles up to 83.00; few 1550

on the top grade. Trading was active,
with good demand late in the week. Hol
stein steer prices were steady to weak.

CATTLE. Compared to last week’s
closing prices, slaughter steers sold
uneven. Prices were 1.00-1.50 lower
early in the week and mostly 1.00-2.00
higher late in the week. The steer market
opened the week with losses and gained
strength on Thursday’s active market.
Holstein steers sold weak to .50 lower
Slaughter heifers not well tested.
Feedlots in the plains reported live cattle
on Thursday .50 higher at 78.00-79.00
and .50-1.00 higher dressed at 126.'00-
