Daily National
Grain Market
Summary
St. Joseph, MO
March 7,2001
Report Supplied By USOA
Daily National Grain Market Sum
mary Grain and soybean bids moved
slightly lower today. Export optimism,
profit taking was noted, and some posi
tioning ahead of USDA’s report were all
factors. Wheat bids 3 to 7 cents lower.
Corn 3 to 4 cents lower. Sorghum 5 cents
lower. Soybean bids 4 to 6 cent lower.
Expected rains and drop of moisture
will move in Southern Plains areas later
in the week. Wheat slightly tower as lack
of fresh news to spark interest in the pits.
Losses are being limited as expectations
of a small reduction in exports will
appear in USDA report. Corn bids lower
with light profit taking and concerns of a
negative report have the market on their
toes. Export demand is slow and foot
and mouth problems drove bids lower.
Soybean bids were lower as traders look
ing for a hike in projected US exports
and soybean meal continue to trade up
and down.
