Compared to last week: Feeder steers
steady to 1.00 higher. Feeder heifers and
Stocker steers steady. Stocker heifers
steady to 3.00 lower. Demand continues
good for feeder cattle and Stocker steers.
However, upcoming winter storms have
dampened demand to moderate for
stocker heifers. Grazing cattle supply
continues to be split between thin dried
out cattle and medium flesh cattle. Re
ceipts continue depressed as wheat
pasture has been sparse to non-existent
this season throughout Oklahoma and
northern Texas. Weigh-ups average to
gaunt. Special stock cow sale to be held
Thursday, March IS, 2001.
Slaughter cows 1.00-1.50 higher.
Slaughter bulls steady to 1.00 higher.
Packer demand continues very good for
light receipts. Total of 235 cows and
bulls sold with 45 percent going to pack
ers. Receipts this week 6575; last week
5659; last year 11,971.
Supply consisted of 59 percent year
lings over 600 lbs; 37 percent calves and
light yearlings under 600 lbs; 4 percent
cows and bulls. Heifers comprised 39
percent of feeder and calf supply.
