It is Monday morning, and it is snowing
quite heavily. Schools have been canceled,
but not in our township. Despite the fact
that we live on a dead end road, the snow
plow has been past our house two times.
So the three grandchildren are off to
school.
As we had a table full of guests last
night, 1 put away my good dishes and sil
verware this morning. There were quite a
few compliments on my baked com and
even a request for the recipe.
Then I began to telephone auctioneers
to get “Sale Reports” from last week’s

prices for publication. Over the 25-year

being drawn to the kitchen by homemade
cookies hot out of the oven, fresh churned
ice cream or chocolate covered beaters

rekindle these fond, family-oriented expe
riences, Edy’s Homemade Ice Cream an
nounces “Traditions in the Kitchen,” a
nationwide search for a new ice cream
flavor. The winning entry will be awarded
a grand prize of $25,000 for a dream
kitchen remodel. In addition, the top 10 fi

number of funeral meals. When a person

To enter, contestants simply submit an
original ice cream flavor name and a crea
tive description of the flavor, including the
base ice cream flavor and any flavor swirls
or other mix-ins. Each entry must also in
clude a paragraph (50 words or less) de
scribing what this flavor means to you and
why it reminds you of Grandma’s kitchen
or a special family tradition.
