CATTLE: Compared to last Thurs
day, slaughter steers sold 1.00 higher.
Early sales opened Monday on a strong
note and continued through Tuesday’s
good offering. A large supply of ex
tremely heavy cattle were sold with min
imal or no discounts at all. Holstein
steers traded steady to 1.00 higher in a
light test. Slaughter heifers not well
tested but a higher undertonenoted.
Slaughter cows were very active trading
1.00-2.00 higher. Slaughter bulls 1.00
higher on a thin test. Supply included 41
percent slaughter steers and 47 percent
cows.
SLAUGHTER STEERS: High Choice
and Prime 2-41200-1500 lbs 79.35-82.50,
with fancy singles up to 83.50. Choice 2-

mostly steady. Trading was active for all
classes with a very attractive supply of
well finished steers on offer. Slaughter
heifers not well tested. Demand for
slaughter ungs continue to be very good
and traded 1.00-2.00 higher.
Slaughter bulls sold steady. Supply in
cluded 27 percent slaughter steers and
45 percent cows.

CATTLE; Compared to last week’s
closing prices, slaughter steers sold
steady to 1.00 higher. Early sales of
steers opened on a strong note and set
tled late in the week on very attractive
offerings. Midwest feedlots traded cattle
mostly 1.00 higher at 78.50-79.00 live
and 125.00-127.00 dressed basis. Slaugh
ter heifers were not well tested, but a
higher undertone noted. Local Holstein
steer prices traded 1.00 higher on a light
test. Demand for slaughter cows was
very good all week breaking into the
