HARRISBURG (Dauphin
Co.) Maturity coupled with
dairyness and a beautiful udder
captured the eye of Mary lager,
judge for the State Goat Show
last Thursday.
The Best in Show representing
these characteristics was GCH
Albonhaus Lilac, owned by Todd
Biddle and shown by Erin Aiello,
14.
“It’s a team effort,” Biddle
said of the Alpine doe bred by his
mother Gail Biddle and raised by
students at the Milton Hershey
School, Hershey.
Biddle said 18 students from
the school brought 23 head to
compete with the 225 dairy goats
registered for the show. A Biddle
doe also was named champion of
all other purebreds.
Competing for the best of
show were the LaMancha cham
pion shown by Joel Weikel,
Blairs Mills; Nubian champion
exhibited by Jane Schalitzky,
Landisburg; Toggenburg cham
pion and champion of the re
corded grades exhibited by Joel
Weikel.
