Movement of ready-to-cook whole
birds remained about moderate and was
generally noted as sufficient in keeping
the bulk of offerings in good balance to
occasionally short. Live supplies were at
least moderate; weights were irregular in
a full range of light to heavy. Processing
schedules were moderately heavy Less
than trucklot asking prices were un
changed at 50 to 64 cents. Trade senti
ment was fully steady to firm. Bone-in
breasts remained short of an active call.
Boneless skinless breasts were well bal
anced and additional offerings were held
with confidence. Wings were in good
balance. Other cuts were at least ade
quate.

Prices remained unchanged on all
sizes. The market tone was steady.
Retail and distributive demand ranged
light to occasionally good, best where
features were in progress.
Supplies were adequate to instances
available. The New York State shell egg
inventory was 14 percent more and the
New Jersey inventory was 6 percent
more than the previous week.

Majority prices were generally trend
ing lower when compared to a week ear
lier. Inquiry was irregular and traders
were unaggressive as most were watch
ing further market developments. The
undertone was unsettled and cautious.
Supplies were sufficient for needs.
Liquid and frozen eggs (ingredients in
cluded) processed under federal inspec
tion in the Eastern region for the week
ending January 06, 2001 were 3% less
than last week, and 33% less than a year
ago.
