The potatoes from Spring Creek Farm of Mertz town were named grand cham pion and reserve grand champion at the 85th Pennsyl vania State Farm Show. In addition to these honors, Spring Creek Farm was the first place winner for open, white skin varieties; open, white skinned, yellow flesh varieties; open, russetted skin varieties; and open, red or blue skin varie ties. Spring Creek was, as ex pected, the champion of the open division potatoes. Individually, H.L. Smith of Blain won special major chipp ing potato class. Lorissa Lazarus of Brenigsville was the winner of junior white skin varieties. First place in junior, white skinned, yellow flesh varieties was Joel Geiger of Danielsville. Ryan Komar of Ligonier led junior, red or blue skin varieties and was champion of the junior division.
