CATTLE: Compared to last Thurs
day, slaughter steers, holsteins, and heif
ers, sold steady. The steer market
opened weak but closed steady on a
more attractive supply. Tuesday’s re
ceipts were low due to the holiday.
Slaughter cows were very active and
traded steady to 1.00 higher. Slaughter
bulls not well tested. Supply included 41
percent slaughter steers and 48 percent
cows.
SLAUGHTER STEERS: High Choice
and Prime 2-4 1270-1465 lbs 77.50-81.10,
fancy singles up to 81.75. Choice 2-3
1145-1475 lbs 74.50-79.00, with a few
high dressing 1-2 up to 80.00; 1480-1640
lbs 71.75-75.00. Select and low Choice 2-
3 few 1280-1430 lbs 70.00-74.75. Select 2
individual 1345 lbs 68.75.

CATTLE: Compared to Tuesday,
slaughter steers and heifers sold 1.00-
1.50 higher. Supply was light due to the
coming holiday, with a very attractive
supply on offer. Early in the week 2-4
inches of snow accumulated in Lancas
ter County but was not much of a factor
on the supply. Holstein steers sold steady
in a light test. Slaughter cows sold 1.00-
1.50 higher. Slaughter bulls traded 2.00
higher. Supply included 24 percent
slaughter steers and 51 percent cows.

mostly 120.00-122.00. Local Holstein
steers traded .50 higher. Slaughter cows
closed 2.00-3.50 higher for the week, as
the Cow Carcass Cutout was $87.04, up
$4.10 on Wednesday. Slaughter bull
prices closed steady to 2.00 higher.
Supply included 27 percent slaughter
steers, 9 percent slaughter heifers, 51
percent cows, 5 percent bulls, with the
balance feeders.
