SEVERAL INTERESTING FACTS
A young dairyman in Strasburg bought a herd in Conn. 3 yrs. ago,
he only bought one replacement since.
Dairyman in Kinzers who bought a herd in New York, I stopped in to
see him this summer, counted the cows, checked the milk slips in the
milk house, scratched my head, went back and counted the cows
again, he was averaging over 85 lb. per day 2X.
Moved a herd from Vermont to Quarryville in July. This year in
Vermont the herd was averaging 60 lb., 2 months later in the heat of
summer, they were averaging 78 lb.
Or how about buying a 14 yr. old dry cow with a herd. Bringing her
home, she calves out, milks over 100 lb. and breeds right back.
