West Snyder FFA Chap ter hosted the SUN Area FFA fall meeting Thursday, Nov. 9 in the high school auditorium. At the meeting, Chuck Kess ler, son of Charles and Jan Kess ler of Beavertown, was named Snyder County Star Farmer. This award is given to the member who has shown pre miere leadership and an out standing supervised occupational experience program in Snyder County. Chuck serves as an as sistant officer for the West Snyd er FFA Chapter. Chuck has attended the Na tional FFA Convention where he was a presenter at the National PALS Conference and the Penn sylvania FFA State Legislative Leadership Conference. Three West Snyder FFA mem bers also received their SUN Area FFA degrees at the SUN Area FFA fall meeting. Those West Snyder FFA members in cluded Chuck Kessler, Jason Brosius, and Laura Knepp. In order to receive the SUN Area FFA Degree, members must have completed two years of agricul tural courses and earned or in vested at least $5OO or worked at least 300 hours in a supervised agricultural experience (SAE) project. Members must partici pate in two programs presented to the public and represented the chapter above the area level. The Honorary SUN Area FFA Degree was presented to Mrs. Jaci Hamer, Line Mountain FFA adviser.
