Four horse and rider pairs won double High Point Awards for the Year 2000 in the Triangle Horse Show Series. Awards were presented at a pig roast and dance held jointly with Gum Tree 4-H Club on Sat urday, Nov. 18, at Grazing Acres in New London. Double winners were Brooke Holloway of Kennett Square, riding Wrinkle in Time; Taylor Marcus of West Grove, riding One Last Trick; Bethany Moore of Landenberg, riding Indian Jane; and Sarah Shaffer of West Grove riding Low Down Louie. Holloway was the top rider for the series in Advanced Short Stirrup, a division for riders aged 12 or younger, and in Baby Green Hunter, a division for horses and ponies in their first and second years of showing. Marcus received her top awards in the mini division (for riders age 10 and under) and in beginner short stirrup. This pair also was second in high points in the pleasure pony division. Moore was the top junior medal rider (the junior medal division tests advanced riding skills). Her mount was the top point winner in the pleasure horse division. This pair also placed second for the series in the western and low hunter divi sion. Shaffer received the top award for open equitation, which is based on the individu al’s riding ability, and showed her quarter horse to the top high point award in low hunter (in this division the horse, and not the rider, is judged). High point rider in leadline was Anthony DiNenno of West Grove. Reserve high point rider in leadline was Monica DePaul. In the mini mini division, for riders eight and under, the high point rider was Ciara Danese of Landenberg. Reserve high point rider in this division was Abby Miller of Kennett Square. High point western horse was Eagle’s First Love, shown by Lauren DiNenno of West Grove. Eagle’s First Love was also re serve in high points for the plea sure horse division. Sister Jenna DiNenno showed the high point pleasure pony, Desert Fire Belle. High point beginner rider was Kristen Deets of Coatesville. Re serve in this division was Emily Shaffer of West Grove.
