Midweek trucklot buying activity was
very light as buying patterns remained
cautious and dealers maintained limited
floorstocks. Offerings of boneless skin
less breasts were fully adequate to
ample. Bone-in breasts were mostly ade
quate to occasionally balanced. Leg
quarters were readily available and often
slow to clear. Wings continued to clear
well. Movement through retail and dis
tributive channels was slow. The market
tone was barely steady to instances weak
on leg quarters, about steady on the bal
ance.

Majority prices were unchanged to
lower on salt yolk, other items were
mostly unchanged when compared to a
week earlier. The market tpne was about
steady on yolks, mixed on whites and
unsettled on whole. Trading was irregu
lar with buyers reported as being cau
tious. Supplies were usually adequate for
current needs. Liquid and frozen eggs
(ingredients included) processed under
federal inspection in the Eastern region
for the week ending November 25,2000
wdre 5 % less than last week, and 1 %
less than a year ago.

In Philadelphia and Boston, prices
were unchanged to 3 cents higher for the
larger sizes and unchanged to 2 cents
higher on mediums. Prices paid to pro
ducers in New England were 3 cents
higher for extra large and large, 1 cent
higher for mediums, and unchanged on
the remainder of sizes. The market tone
was firm. Demand was moderate to
good, best where features provided addi
tional interest. Supplies were generally
adequate for current needs. Breaking
stock offerings were adequate for the
moderate demand. Light type fowl were
sufficient.
