CATTLE: Compared to last Thurs
day, slaughter steers sold mostly steady,
instances .50 higher on weights over
1500 lbs. The bulk of the extremelyheavy
cattle were sold in single-head lots with
most of those trading at apremium. Hol
stein steers and slaughter heifers were
mostly steady. Slaughtercows sold 1.00-
2.00 lower. Slaughter bulls were not well
tested. Monday’s special feeder sale in
cluded 368 head of mostly fresh cattle
from Pennsylvania and surrounding
stites. Supply included 23 percent
slaughter steers, 32 percent feeders and
39 percent slaughter cows.

CATTLE: Compared to Tuesday,
slaughter steers and heifers traded
steady with instances .50 higher on the
fancy singles. Early in sale trading was
more active for the fancy cattle but faded
back to steady by the end. Holstein steers
traded steady. Slaughter cows traded
steady after dropping 1.00-2.00 lower for
the week. Slaughter bulls have no com
parison due to a light test on Tuesday.
Supply included 34 percent slaughter
steers and 35 percent cows.
