Movement of ready-to-cook whole
bird was generally noted as disppoint
ingly slow to seasonally no better than
fair and typical of the post-thanksgiving
period. Seller offerings were fully suffi
cient Live supplies were at least moder
ate; weights were light to heavy, mostly
desirable to heavy. Processing schedules
were moderate to moderately heavy.
Less than trucklot asking prices were
unchanged at 55 to 69 cents. Trade senti
ment was about steady. In the parts
complex. Breast and Leg cuts were fully
adequate to ample and excess supplies
were usually slow to clear. Wings were
adequate to tight.

Majority prices were unchanged to
lower on whole, with majority trading on
balance of items unchanged when com
pared to a week earlier. The market tone
was usually steady on yolks, and still
mixed on whites and unsettled on whole.
Trading was limited and with buyers
cautiously watching further market de
velopments. Supplies were usually ade
quate for current needs. Liquid and
frozen eggs (ingredients included) pro
cessed under federal inspection in the
Eastern region for the week ending No
vember 18, 2000 were 1 % less than last
week, but 5 % more than a year ago.
