In New York and Philadelphia, prices
were lower on mediums and unchanged
on the balance. Otherwise, prices were
unchanged. The market tone was steady
to barely steady. Demand was in a full
range of light to very good and was best
where holiday features were in progress.
Supplies were adequate to closely bal
anced. Breaking stock supplies were at
least adequate to fully adequate and
demand for additional product was
light. Light type fowl were usually suffi
cient for holiday requirements.

Movement of ready-to-cook whole
birds was limited as turkeys and other
items typically active in advance of
thanksgiving dominated trading. Seller
offerings were more than adequate in
handling seasonally lighter needs. Live
supplies were moderate to light; weights
were light to heavy, mostly desirable to
heavy. Processing schedules were light to
moderate. Less than trucklot asking
prices were unchanged at 55 to 69 cents.
Trade sentiment remained about steady.
Wings and gizzards were no more than
adequate. Other cuts were at least ade

York State shell egg inventory was 4 per
cent more, but the New Jersey inventory
was 31 percent less than last week.

mary Grain and Soybeans bids were
lower today in dull trading. Wheat
steady to 1 cent lower. Corn steady to 1
cent lower and up to 10 cents lower in So
lowa. Sorghum steady. Soybeans steady
to 2 cents lower. Some pre-holiday profit
taking on the Boards added weakness to
bids. USDA reported a small improve
ment in winter wheat crop condition.
