Majority prices were unchanged on
sugar yolks, 1 cent higher on salt yolks,
but lower on whites and whole when
compared to a week earlier. The market
tone was at least steady on yolks, mixed
on whites and unsettled on whole. New
trading was limited and with buyers con
tinuing to watching further market de
velopments. Supplies were usually
adequate for current needs. Liquid and
frozen eggs (ingredients included) pro
cessed under federal inspection in the
Eastern region for the week ending No
vember 11,2000 were 1% more than last
week, but 4% less than a year ago.

In Philadelphia, prices were un- ’
changed to 1 cent lower for mediums
and unchanged on the larger sizes. In
Boston and New England, prices were
unchanged. The market tone was steady
to barely steady. Demand was moderate
to very good and best where holiday fea
tures provided additional interest. Sup
plies were adequate for current needs.
The New England shell egg inventory
was 14 percent more than last Monday.
The Pennsylvania inventory was 16
percent less and the Delaware/Maryland
inventory was 28 percent less than the
previous week. Breaking stock offerings
were fully adequate for the light
demand. Light type hens were usually
sufficient.
